“Now to him who is able to do above and beyond all that we ask or think according to the power that works in us— to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.” (Ephesians 3:20-21, CSB)
Our students have been studying the book of Ephesians and will play in their second Round Robin this coming Saturday, December 5, at the Christian Restoration Association office in Mason, OH. Due to COVID restrictions and limited seating, only the quizmaster, players, time keepers, and scorekeepers will be allowed in the games. If you would like updates throughout the day, please call or text Crystal (513-906-3936) to be added to a group chat. Please pray for our safe travels, quick recall, and good sportsmanship…. and NO MORE COVID INTERRUPTIONS!!!! Our teams are:
Pleasant Ridge 1: Jonah Bailey, Kinzie Bailey, Zach Huss
Pleasant Ridge 2: Lilly Bailey, Ruthie Bailey, Zane Huss, Logan Simila
These teams will remain fluid as Pam and I continue to observe and combine the students’ complimentary skills.
Questions? Call/text Crystal Huss (513-906-3936) for more information.
Curious? Open practices are held every Tuesday @3:30 in the fellowship hall. December is a fantastic time to jump in, as the next Round Robin will not be until February!
Up for a challenge? Our students are going to be encouraged to memorize the ENTIRE book of Philippians throughout December and January! Check out the study calendar to join them in this challenge ;)
The prayer point for December will be application. One of my favorite characteristics of this year’s text is the large presence of verses that can be applied to daily life. Just from Ephesians 4, comes tidbits such as, "putting away lying, speak the truth” (v. 25), “Don’t let the sun go down on your anger,” (v. 26), "No foul language should come from your mouth,” (v. 29), and “be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving one another, just as God also forgave you in Christ” (v. 32). One of the main goals of Bible Bowl is to encourage memorization through repetition. But honestly, memorizing a bunch of Bible verses accomplishes nothing if they are not applied. Please join me in praying for these to students to, not just memorize, but apply the verses they’re learning so that they may “set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, and in purity” (1 Tim. 4:12).
