Happy Christmas Eve Eve!

Acts 20:35

In all things I have shown you that by working hard in this way we must help the weak and remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he himself said, “It is more blessed to give than to receive.”

Our church has been called to action by the spirit of giving the last few weeks. We wanted to share what we have been able to accomplish through the generous outpouring we have received from our church family.

26 family movie packages given

17 complete meal boxes delivered to families

65 Stockings full of goodies and crafts for kids

50 goodie bags to the residents of the Waters of Rising Sun Nursing Home

84 goodie bags to the residents of the Waters of Dillsboro Nursing Home

Feeding all three shifts (52 staff members) lunch from Subway at the Waters of Rising Sun Nursing home to show our appreciation.

The response and thanks have been overwhelming. We have been able to witness to people through our spirit of giving in these tough times. Thank you for helping and making it possible for the church to do this.

Christmas Eve Service! From Courtney Mathews

Hello everyone!

Christmas is almost here! Just wanted to send out some tips and instructions for our Christmas Eve service:

  • We will be using Webex so please go to the App Store or webex.com to download the app prior to the service.

  • I will be sending out another email later this week with a meeting link. If you have already downloaded the app, all you should need to do is click the link when it is time and follow the prompts. This “meeting” will be scheduled for 10:45 but we will not start until 11. Please log in at 10:45 – this is to allow time for trouble shooting so that we can start promptly with as few hiccups as possible.

  • This program will not be recorded, so if you want to see it, make sure you are logged in and ready before we start.

  • Everyone will be on mute. We will have control of this, so please do not try to unmute yourself unless you receive a request from us to unmute you. This will cut down on unnecessary background noise for everyone.

  • If you have questions or comments, there is a chat function, or you may text me at 812-756-1093 and I will try to help you. (Please do not call once the program has started – that may interrupt the system, but texts are fine! )

  • You will have full control of your camera. If you want us to see you, please turn your camera on. We would love to see your smiling faces! But if for any reason you need to have your camera off, you are welcome to watch incognito.

  • When you enter the meeting, it will ask for your name and email address. This is to verify who you are for the purposes of using this program. Your name will be visible to everyone on the program, so please put that in so that we can easily see who is logged in. (Your email will not be visible.)

  • When you first log in, you may be asked to allow access to your mic and camera. If you wish to be seen and/or if you are participating, make sure you allow access.

  • Make sure your speaker/sound is on and turned up so that you can hear.

  • For those who are participating with a song or poem, I will be sending out further instructions later this week.

As with anything virtual, there may be some bumps along the way. We appreciate your grace and patience. We are excited to be able to have our Christmas Eve service despite all the curveballs 2020 has sent our way, and we are so glad to have you join us!

Merry Christmas everyone, and God bless!

Courtney

On Sunday Dec. 27, we will be having a Christmas worship service. It will include scripture readings, music, communion and an invitation. Please come and join us in celebrating Jesus’s birth.

CALLING ALL PARENTS!!!!! All children are being asked to sing during the Christmas morning worship service on the 27th. There will not be any practices because of covid. You are asked to practice the first verse of "Away in a Manger" with your child/children so that they will know it when they are called up to sing. Thanks for your help.
