I have got so many positive remarks about how much our church is doing for the holidays and still staying covid safe. What a great way to witness. This week I became aware of a family of 9, two adults and 7 kids that needed help and the mom had covid. All were quarantined and kids were home from school. The mother reached out for help with food because feeding all 9 for two weeks right before Christmas wasn't going to be easy and plus they could not leave the house to get anything. They had checked into the food pantry in Vevay but they were short on food and there were people in front of them with needs. So i did a little digging and their story was true and i would have never slept again thinking those kids were hungry. I called some partners in crime and rounded up some money and to Aldi we went. We had a good little chunk of money and we had four carts rounded up with food when we got done. So off we want to find these people and that wasn't easy. There are so many new little back roads in Switz. I didn't think we would ever find it. But when we did we knew it. Out ran kids from the house (social distancing of course) headed for the picnic table where we were putting the food. Grabbing and carrying in the house smiling , laughing, and telling us thank you. It was fun and it felt AMAZING! Later we found out that one of the little girls told her sister we were Santa's Elves and brought them Christmas. The older sister said "No" they are God's angels! She said she had prayed that God would send someone to help and also make their mom well. WOW! No other words necessary!
The Giving Tree gifts for the Waters residents must be returned here to the church by Dec. 20th.
If you signed up for a Movie package you can pick it up on Dec. 18th, 4:00 to 6:00 at the church. If you can't get it then you can get it Sunday morning the 20th here at church after the morning service.
We will be getting the food boxes together and will deliver them on Friday, Dec. 18th. If you would rather pick them up and deliver yourself that’s fine. You can pick them up at the church on Dec. 18th, 4:00 to 6:00. This is the only day for pick up.
On Sunday Dec. 27, we will be having a Christmas worship service. It will include scripture readings, music, communion and an invitation. If you would like to do a special that morning get with veronica Breeck. Please come and join us in celebrating Jesus’s birth.
CALLING ALL PARENTS!!!!! All children are being asked to sing during the Christmas morning worship service on the 27th. There will not be any practices because of covid. You are asked to practice the first verse of "Away in a Manger" with your child/children so that they will know it when they are called up to sing. There will be copies of the words on the table in the foyer this Sunday. Thanks for your help.
There will be no food donation this year for the free store, it is monetary donation only. There is a box on the table in the foyer for Christmas donations. All of which are to help with the Free Store.
Wayne Stahl is looking for people to help run the soundboard on Sunday mornings. See him for info.
Jerry Koons is looking for more people for the security team here at church. See him if you are interested.

Let’s get together to celebrate Christ’s birth! Who wants to join a virtual Christmas Eve service? Thanks to COVID, our church will not be having our annual service, but I would love to have a virtual one for anyone interested! We will be “meeting” on WebEx at 11:00 p.m., EST Christmas Eve. Anyone who would like to contribute by singing, playing or reading something, please message me. I’ll put together a “playlist” to send out for that evening. And if you don’t want to perform but would love to watch, you’re welcome to join too! Send me your email so that I can send you an invite to our meeting! Please respond by Sunday, Dec. 20 so I have time to set everything up. Feel free to tag or share this with your friends, family, and church as well!
