It goes without saying that now, more than ever, our young people must be deeply rooted in Scripture to combat the various temptations and ideologies thrown at them from every angle. Pleasant Ridge is tackling this need through participation in Bible Bowl, a quick recall Scripture memorization program, sponsored by the Restoration Movement churches. Each year, National Bible Bowl selects a book, or series of books, for students ages 6th-12th grades, to study, memorize, and compete over in local Round Robin games and Bible college tournaments. The text for this 2020-21 season is covering the Prison Epistles: Galatians, Ephesians, Philippians, Colossians, and 1st & 2nd Timothy.
Our practices have begun and excitement abounds! We started with one team of 4 players and now have 7 players spread across TWO teams!!!! There’s always room for more and it’s never too late to join! Questions? Call/text Crystal Huss (513-906-3936) for more information.
Curious? Open practices are held every Tuesday @3:30 in the fellowship hall.
Stay tuned to this page for more updates as the season progresses!
Please pray for these students as they dive into deeper study of God’s Word: Kinzie Bailey, Lilly Bailey, Jonah Bailey, Ruthie Bailey, Zach Huss, Zane Huss, and Logan Simila.
The prayer point for October will be time management. School, jobs, family time, church activities, extra-curricular activities, ….. the daily to-do list for students is endless. Part of growing up is learning how to prioritize all of the “things” that occupy one’s day. One of the main goals of Bible Bowl is to get students in the habit of studying Scripture DAILY. Let’s prioritize Bible study and give God our “firsts,” rather than our “leftovers.”
